There are a lot of words that could be used to describe the Trump presidency so far, and turmoil would be definitely one of them. There has been lots of movement in his administration, and really, every day could be a day where someone gets let go. Here is a look at who could be next.
Gary Cohn
Odds: -125 (1.80)
If there were odds for this, Cohn would have to be the favorite right now as he is the Director for the National Economic Council. Formerly the president of Goldman Sachs, Cohn seems to be very upset by the comments Trump made in regards to Charlottesville. Trump was holding a press conference last week where he was supposed to introduce infrastructure but it somehow turned into a battle between him and the media, and Cohn just happened to be standing there next to Trump. The rumor is that he was very uncomfortable with what transpired. Cohn, who is also Jewish, was dismayed that Trump said “both sides” were to blame in Charlottesville and there were “fine people” among the white supremacists.
Instead of being fired, Cohn could actually quit on his own. He hasn’t said or done anything in public, but behind the scenes, Cohn is reportedly not happy with the President.
Rex Tillerson
Odds: +800 (8.00)
Tillerson is the Secretary of State and formed CEO of ExxonMobil, and has been one of the biggest opposition voices to sanctions against Russia, so that should have him in the good books of the President, in theory. However, you could point to potential wars with North Korea and Venezuela that say Tillerson isn’t doing a good job. Still, the President seems to like Tillerson, who doesn’t oppose him much, and that makes him most likely to stay. There haven’t been many rumors that he’s going anywhere.
Stephen Miller
Odds: +500 (6.00)
Miller is Trump’s senior advisor for policy, and he is also the chief speechwriter for the President. Miller also helped to shape the travel ban that the President tried to push through, which originally failed but was eventually upheld by the supreme court. He has written a few articles on the danger of radical Islamism. Miller just turned 31 years old and is one of the younger people to have the ear of Trump, who seems to be a fan of him. He speaks very well and is rarely caught in situations saying something he shouldn’t – like KellyAnne Conway. He might have the best chance on this list of staying.
Sebastian Gorka
Odds: +250 (3.50)
Finally, there is Gorka, a deputy assistant to the President and has even called himself “the President’s pitbull”. He is known for his views on Islam and while he fancies himself as an expert in terrorism, his PhD thesis got shot down at Georgetown University, who described it as “inept”, which is never a good sign. However, he is always up for a good media battle and that could be his downfall if the President ever decides that not all publicity is good publicity. To stay on, he could take a page from the book of KellyAnne Conway (+5000 or 51.00 in Decimal), who is a Counselor to the President. She has been, quite frankly, awful when it comes to the media, so she is laying low currently and that could be the road for Gorka to take.
